Meet Mallory Frazier, BCPA

Smiling woman with long purple-dyed hair in a white blazer indoors, soft lamp lighting in the background.

Some health problems have a clear name and a clear treatment. Others do not.

Many of Mallory Frazier’s clients come to her after years of appointments, scans, labs, and second opinions. They have seen specialist after specialist. They have been told their symptoms do not fit a pattern. They are tired, and they still do not have answers.

Mallory is a Board Certified Patient Advocate who helps Umbra clients take control of their situation, communicate better with doctors, and navigate the system to get answers and ultimately proper treatment.

She brings 15 years of experience in clinical research, direct client care, and healthcare navigation. She also holds a master’s degree in psychoneuroimmunology, the study of how the mind, the nervous system, and the immune system affect each other.

Why Mallory Frazier Became a Patient Advocate

Mallory knows what it feels like to be the person nobody can diagnose.

She spent years on her own road to a diagnosis for a rare chronic illness. She knew something was wrong. She could not find a provider who could tell her what it was. She used her research background to keep digging until she found the answer herself.

That experience shapes how she works. Mallory understands the exhaustion of explaining your symptoms one more time to one more doctor. She understands what it costs to keep advocating for yourself when you already feel unwell.

She is especially focused on people living with rare disease and chronic illness, where treatment options are not always well known. Speaking with HealthyWomen, Mallory described women who have lived with daily pain for decades and “have accepted that they simply have to suffer — that this is their lot in life.” She does not accept that. An advocate, she said, can help immensely.

How Mallory Frazier Helps Clients

Mallory works with Umbra clients on complex illness, chronic symptoms, and cases that no one has solved yet.

Building the Full Picture

Most clients arrive with records scattered across several portals and several health systems. Mallory pulls it together. She gathers records, imaging, and lab results, then builds a clear timeline of what happened and when.

That timeline often reveals patterns that were invisible when the information sat in separate places. It also gives new providers something they can actually read in the few minutes they have.

Preparing for Appointments

A specialist visit can be short. Mallory helps clients make it count.

She helps clients decide which records matter most for a specific provider, write down the questions that need answers, and prepare for the conversation. After the visit, she helps clients understand what they heard and what it means for the next step.

Researching Options

Mallory reads and summarizes medical and scientific research for her clients. She looks into possible avenues, checks whether a treatment a client heard about is credible, and translates the findings into plain language.

The goal is not to hand clients a stack of studies. It is to give them questions worth asking their care team.

Coordinating Care

When several doctors are involved and none of them are talking to each other, things fall through the cracks. Mallory keeps the pieces connected. She helps clients find the right specialist for overlapping issues, works through insurance and access barriers, and carries the follow-up when a client does not have the energy to carry it themselves.

Her case experience includes long-running diagnostic mysteries, recurrent infections, chronic digestive symptoms, immune concerns, and women’s health and gynecologic issues that overlap with larger diagnostic questions.
