Meet Ajala Clark, RN, CSA

ajala clark

Ajala Clark is a registered nurse, Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and patient advocate with Umbra Health Advocacy. She has more than 30 years of nursing experience and focuses on supporting older adults and their caregivers.

Ajala Clark’s nursing background

Ajala’s nursing career spans acute care, emergency medicine, cardiovascular health, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and home healthcare. She has also led nursing teams and overseen daily operations at home healthcare agencies.

That wide experience matters for the families she works with. Ajala has seen how care moves from a hospital bed to a rehab center to a person’s own home, and she knows where things tend to go wrong. She uses that knowledge to catch problems early and keep care on track.

Beyond her clinical nursing work, Ajala also has deep experience with non-medical home care. She can help families choose the right in-home support, get that care set up, and manage it over time. This is the everyday help with activities of daily life (ADLs), that lets an older adult stay safely and comfortably at home.

How Ajala Clark helps clients

As an Umbra advocate, Ajala can help with:

  • Explaining the healthcare system and a person’s care options in plain language
  • Coordinating care across doctors, hospitals, rehab, and home
  • Planning safe hospital discharges and transitions back home
  • Choosing, setting up, and managing non-medical in-home care, such as personal care aides and companions
  • Helping prevent avoidable trips back to the hospital
  • Reviewing medical records and charts to catch gaps and errors
  • Connecting patients and families with community resources and support
  • Standing beside caregivers and families during hard healthcare moments
  • Keeping each client informed so they can make confident decisions

Ajala Clark’s experience with complex conditions

Ajala brings real depth to clients who are living with serious, ongoing health conditions. Over her career, she has supported patients managing congestive heart failure, dementia, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and chronic pain.

She is also driven by a concern for fairness in healthcare. Ajala pays close attention to the everyday barriers that keep people from getting good care, such as cost, transportation, and limited access to services. She is known for listening closely and advocating hard for better outcomes, especially for patients who might otherwise be overlooked.
